Install picons on Enigma2

IMPORTANT! The picons are only available in conjunction with the EPG-ID assignment of Xtream Editor.

Installing Picons (SSH):

  • Connect to your box using an SSH client like Putty. Login as: root

  • Run this command:

    OE1.6 - OE2.0 like OpenaATV, OpenPli, OpenVix,....

    wget -O /tmp/install_picons.sh "http://xtream-editor.com/files/ipk/install_picons.sh" && chmod 755 /tmp/install_picons.sh && /tmp/install_picons.sh

    DEB OE2.5 like DreamOS, NewNigma2

    wget -O /tmp/install_picons.sh "http://xtream-editor.com/files/deb/install_picons.sh" && chmod 755 /tmp/install_picons.sh && /tmp/install_picons.sh

  • With OE 2.5 the picons are stored automatically in the right place. With Enigma1.6 and 2.0 you still have to define the directory. Check out the forum of your distribution where you can install picons on your image. "/usr/share/enigma2" is supported on most distributions. If an HDD is installed, we recommend "/hdd"

Alternative installation of Picons (FTP):

  • Download this file. Picons
  • Unzip it to the computer and copy it to the box via FTP
  • Most distributions support the "/usr/share/enigma2/picon" directory
